We shall begin shutting down existing blogs next week. Those blogs that have not been updated in the past 12 months will be deleted first, continuing through blogs updated more frequently.

So, to say that you are unimpressed by the current state of personal publishing would be accurate?

Nah -- it's tepid satire at best. I too am guilty of writing tedious essays that most would consider tedious at best.

Alternate solutions were explored, but the most expedient solution was to make room on servers by clearing out users’ vacation photos, breakup poetry, status as to which member of the A-Team he/she resembles most, “shoutouts” and diatribes on political beliefs.

Ahahha! That's pure genius.

So, to say that you are unimpressed by the current state of personal publishing would be accurate?

While I will quickly agree that most "blog" content is uninspired drivel, there is an opportunity for history to record the life of the common man. If this data is saved (cached) and passed along, future historians will have a wealth of information from which to develop an accurate picture of what life was like at the turn of the century.

Now, do we, the first citizens of the new millennium, want to be remembered as the people we sometimes portray ourselves to be? Probably not, but when has history ever been kind to the masses?
