I think that images of dance, food, travel, tea, family, friends and community work. I would like lots of red items too. I finally finished my post http://bit.ly/1J2tp5.

I understand - I wasn't implying that's what you or they meant - I was just saying that I'd pick a different word. Memorial, maybe.
A slice of mincemeat pie (hands off visitors!).

WOW! Have never liked that pie before – so no worries of me taking it!
Love it. All the apples, raisins and what not. Oh, you thought it was the actual meat version? ;-)

Hmm, let's see. OK, I got it:

My Ubuntu Linux laptop (naturally) w/ twhirl, Pidgin and my feed reader running.

Photos of my family

A slice of mincemeat pie (hands off visitors!)

A Diet Dr. Pepper or Michelob Ultra (toss up) with a slice of Papa John's 6 meat pizza

My Ipod with AC/DC's Black Ice playing Rock n Roll Train

My trusty Linux Phrasebook

An adjustable wrench, a screwdriver and a hammer (don't ask)

The last surviving toy belonging to my deceased pet named Puck for when we meet again on the other side.

Lastly, remember to bring lots of good memories!

Thanks for sharing your alter suggestions. Dia de los Muertos at Bare Hands is something I look forward to every year. Birmingham is lucky to have such amazing people volunteer there to make it all happen. The alter hallway is so special and sweet. I always feel like I'm in a magical cookie jar of sorts. What would my alter look like? I will be thinking about this all day. First thoughts are: glasses, photos of animals, boots, camera, colorful hand-made quilts, chewing gum, record player, stacks of magazines and spiral bound notebooks.
